Meena Mangalvedhekar,
Intercroppers of Edibilicia

As women who are champions of meal prep, we’re facing the adverse effects of climate change in the Arabian Sea regions. We believe that the world will be a better place with increased awareness of our carbon footprint, of responsible farming, and of ways to support to smaller food and agro-entrepreneurs. “Edibilicia,” a secret group of woman, is here to lead the dialogue, to stir the pot, and set the think tank in motion. We’re planting the seeds of hope in each of us.

Are you willing to join in and get your hands dirty?

You are invited to a playful exploration of historical and contemporary footprint of women assisted crop migration from the Arabian Sea region through on-site games progressing into all night online chatting with “edibilicia.”

Tag @edibilicia or #edibilicia, #fanthefoodflame during one of the games and edibilicia will illuminate your night through conversation and sharing in depth knowledge about food practices from Arabian sea agro cultures.

Meena Mangalvedhekar is an artist based in Minneapolis. She works in many media; placemaking as public art as well as video, sculpture, podcast and installation. Time, place and memory always play a key role in her artworks. Through large installations, projections, and placemaking experiments, Meena strives to connect the community and place. She believes in assisting community organizations to utilize these instruments to creatively claim and transform public spaces. Often her works are ephemeral places where passersby can come together to make, relate, and participate, and create loops of the process overtime at multiple occasions.
