Storyteller Hibo Nuura shares stories of rural Somalia with an audience of young people.
Sharing tea, imagining life in rural Somalia.
Somali-Americans come to Minnesota with roots from an ancient nomadic society. In this installation, Twin Cities master-artists tell the stories of nomadic life in Somalia, while families and neighbors gather together after a day’s fasting for Ramadan. Together, we will visit a nomadic Somali homestead, share snacks and tea around the fire, and take a minute to imagine our neighbors’ journey as nomads across the sea.
Stories will be in Somali, with English translation.
