Clarence White,
Green Line Poet

In Green Line Poet, a typewriter poet/artist will transform an installment at the 2017 Northern Spark Festival into an on-the-spot-poetry creation studio complete with vintage typewriters and paper. The poet will create poems and letters exploring the sights, sounds, smells, and stories of the night and historic Rondo and Little Mekong districts. The event will conclude with selected poems being read during the festival and shared on social media.

Visitors and artists sit in a “session” with the artist who will listen with ears, notepads and a manual typewriter. Visitors will be asked to respond to their surroundings–provide their experience of their intellectual and emotional response to places, exhibits, interactions with installments, interactions or impressions of people, both with whom they traveled to Northern Spark and those who they have encountered on the way– or the entire Northern Spark experience.
