IT COULD BE ANY OF US…
Do you ever wonder what would happen if you lost everything?
If you were forced to leave your home? To leave loved ones behind?
Where would you go?
Who would help you?
How could we help each other?
Let the heart-pounding rhythms and soulful tones of flamenco lead you through this journey. Through on-site and roving flamenco performances, Desplazados/Displaced will explore these questions in a world where many stand to lose their homes due to the impacts of climate change.
Featuring beloved guest flamenco singer Vicente Griego, puppetry by BareBones Productions and a compelling cast of dancers and musicians, be prepared to pitch in, sing along, and help save us from the flood –
Connecting is the best hope we have to save us all.
On-site performances will tell the story in three scenes:
Home: Where do we belong?
Destruction: We must work together to survive
Grief: Goodbye, adios
Roving performances will embody the sense of displacement and traveling with nowhere to go.
On-site performances at
• 9 pm
• 10:30 pm

Note: On-site performances are 15-20 minutes long. Roving performances will take place between on-site performance times

Deborah Elias is a flamenco dancer/choreographer, participatory artist, and teacher. Her work celebrates the communal nature of flamenco, through both formal performance-based pieces and more organic expressions that blur the line between performer and audience, embodying elements of procession, sing-along, and flashmob, in site-specific and installation settings.
